Notice To Taxpayers

NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS

Pursuant to T. 32 VSA § 4772, notice is hereby given that Bennington School District Taxes and Town of Bennington Property Taxes are due and payable by Friday, November 10th, 2017 at 5:00 P.M.

Payment may be made in person at the Collections Department, Bennington Town Offices, 205 South Street in Bennington or by mail to the Collections Department, Town of Bennington, P.O. Box 469, Bennington, VT 05201. Payments by mail must be received no later than November 10th, 2017 at 5:00 P.M., or such payment shall be deemed delinquent.    Stuart A. Hurd, Collector of Taxes

 The Town of Bennington will be clearing the White Chapel Cemetery, Hinsdillville Cemetery and the Village Cemetery of all items on November 21, 2017. We will not remove any cement urns. If you have items that you wish to keep, please have them removed prior to Monday, November 20, 2017. If you have any questions please call the Town Office at 442-1044.

Construction Notice: DEWEY STREET PARTIAL CLOSURE

Please be advised Dewey Street will be closed to through traffic between Monument Avenue and Hospital Drive (only).  This construction project is expected to run 6-7 Weeks beginning Monday October 2 through November 24th. Local traffic only will be accommodated Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm

 Construction Notice: PFOA Water Line Extensions work has begun.  This will require road closures.  Please see below.

 

Division Street remains Closed to through traffic all week.  Local traffic WILL be accommodated.  Highway & Sewer crews will continue preparation work for paving.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Fairview Street will be reduced to One Lane Traffic all week as PFOA Water Line Extension Work continues.  Local traffic WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Expect minor delays.

Grove Street – will be Closed to through traffic all week.  Local traffic WILL be accommodated.  Highway & Sewer crews will continue preparation work for paving.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

 Jennings Drive will be Closed to through traffic for a two-week period for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

 Murphy Road will be Closed from Austin Hill Rd to Route 67A to through traffic for two a week period for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Local traffic WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Park Street between Gage St and Park St will be closed to through traffic.  Highway & Sewer crews will continue preparation work for paving.  Local traffic and Busses WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Silk Road will be Closed from Route 67A to the Silk Road Bridge to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Vail Road will be Closed from Silk Road to Red Pine Road to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

 Townwide Work: A Water Crew will be working various areas rebuilding/repairing Hydrants.  This will require men and equipment in the roadway.  Please use caution when approaching.  Expect minor delays.

 

Reminder – Leaf Season:

Please DO NOT rake or blow grass and/or leaves into Town streets or Highways as these clogs storm drains and creates flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

 

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.

HAULER REGISTRATION AND REPORTING ORDINANCE
 

Article 28-7 Registration & Reporting

DELETE THE FOLLOWING: “Haulers & Facilities shall report on the quantities of municipal solid

waste, organics, and mandated recyclables collected in the Town for each preceding quarter on April 15, July 15, October 15, and January 15 of each year on forms to be provided by the Town of Bennington. All other provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste ordinance remain in effect.”
