Bennington Town Offices Closed in observance of Bennington Battle Day – 8/14/2017

The Bennington Recreation Center, Bennington Town Offices and the Public Works Departments will be closed Monday, August 14, 2017 in observance of Bennington Battle Day, Municipal operation will resume on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. Please see Bennington Battle Day Weekend Schedule below:

FRIDAY • AUGUST 11th

Hot Sausage, Burgers, and Hot Dog Lunch
11:00 AM-2:00 PM – Will be available to purchase at the Bennington Fire Station. Served by members of the Bennington Fire Department.
Chicken Barbecue Dinner
4:00 PM until gone – $10 per person. At the Bennington Fire Station.
Silent Auction
4:00 PM-8:00 pm – At the Bennington Fire Station.
Car Cruise
6:00 PM-8:00 PM – At the Bennington Fire Station. Parade down Main Street at 8:15 pm. Open to the public.
Las Vegas Night
6:00 PM-10:00 PM – At the Bennington Fire Station. DJ Ben Patten from Magic 590 AM. Open to the public.

SATURDAY • AUGUST 12th
Battle Day 5k Road Race
8:00 AM – Pre-registration. Bennington Monument, Old Bennington.
9:30 AM – Race starts and ends at The Bennington Monument, Old Bennington.
Kids’ Day
10:00 AM-12:00 NOON – At the Bennington Rec Center, 655 Gage Street. Sponsored by the Bennington Fire Department.
Living History Encampment
10:00 AM-5:00 PM – Ongoing event. With cannon muster and military drills. At the Bennington Battlefield.
USS Bennington Memorial Service
12:00 NOON – Wreath-laying ceremony at the Ship’s Bell, Town of Bennington Office, 205 South St. Public is welcome.
Firefighters’ Challenge
12:00 NOON-4:00 PM – A Firefighters’ Challenge at Willow Park. Call 802-442-1050 for more information, and leave contact information for Deputy Chief Jeff Barry.

Parade Lineup
10:00 AM-12:30 PM – Parade Lineup.
Living History Encampment
10:00 AM-3:00 PM – With cannon musters and military drills. At the Bennington Battlefield.

Battle Day Parade Begins
12:30 PM – Main and Safford Street to Depot Street • North on Depot Street to River Street • River Street to Fire Station.
Reviewing stand at intersection of Routes 7 and 9. Marching route is one mile long.

Trophies and Raffle Drawing
4:00 PM – Trophies presented and raffle winners drawn.
