Construction Notice: PFOA Water Line Extensions work continues as well as Town DPW Projects and State Paving Project work.  These may require road closures or lane reductions.  Please see below.

Austin Hill Road will be reduced to One-lane traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work (service line connections) through June 22nd, 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be on edges of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Bard Road will be reduced to One-lane traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work (service line connections) through June 22nd, 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be on edges of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Benmont Avenue will be Closed from Main St to Holden St.  Highway Crews will be repairing the bridge in preparation for paving.  Please find an alternate route.  Additional work will continue on Benmont Ave the during the week requiring one-lane Closures. Men and equipment will be in the roadway. Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Gypsy Lane continues to be Closed from Rte 9/West Road to Walloomsac Road to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Hillside Street (North Benn) continues to be Closed to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd, 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Main Street from Branch St to Benmont Ave will be reduced to One-Lane traffic all week.  Sewer Crews will be rebuilding manholes in anticipation of the Route 9 State Paving project.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays

Main Street (West End) from Convent Ave to Monument Ave will be reduced to One-Lane traffic.  Crews will be painting crosswalks. Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays

Main Street (WEDNESDAY NIGHT) from Rockwood Street to Branch Street will be reduced to One-Lane traffic.  Water Crew will be replacing a water main valve in anticipation of the Route 9 State Paving project.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays

Matteson Road will be reduced to One-lane traffic from Rice Lane to Harlan Rd to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Murphy Road will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic from Austin Hill to Henry Bridge for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be on edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

North Street from Main St to County St will be reduced to One-Lane traffic all week.  Sewer Crews will be rebuilding manholes in anticipation of the Route 7 State Paving project.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays

North Street (MONDAY NIGHT) from Gage Street to Pleasant Street will be reduced to One-Lane traffic.  Water Crew will be replacing a water main valve in anticipation of the Route 7 State Paving project.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays

Park Street (North Bennington) will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Red Pine Road will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be on edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

 Riverside Drive will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be on edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Royal Street (North Benn) will be Closed to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 29th, 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Silk Road continues to be Closed to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd, 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

South Street from Prospect St to Merson will be reduced to One-Lane traffic Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.  Sewer Crews will be rebuilding manholes in anticipation of the Route 7 State Paving project.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays

Susan Taylor Lane & Asa Way (North Bennington) will be Closed to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 29th , 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Walloomsac Road will continue to be Closed to through traffic between Dermody Rd and Fairview Street for PFOA Water Line Extension Work through June 22nd, 2018.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

**William H. Morse Airport may be accessed by way of Dermody Road

 

TOWNWIDE:

Highway Crews will continue bridge cleaning & basic maintenance across town including crosswalk painting.  Many streets will be reduced to One-lane. Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

 

STATE PROJECT:  Woodford Road / Rte 9 East: VTrans/State Highway Paving Project continues between Bennington (Rte 279 Entrance) and Wilmington.   Various activities (paving, crack sealing & shoulder work) will require lane changes and One-lane Traffic throughout this stretch.  Take caution as much of this portion is currently scarified.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Please DO NOT rake or blow leaves into Town streets or Highways as this clogs storm drains and creates flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

 

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.
