Week of October 14 – 18, 2019

 

Please Be Advised: Town Offices will be CLOSED on Monday October 14th, 2019 in Observance of Indigenous People’s day.

Town Road Crews however will continue to work throughout town. 

 

**Townwide Hydrant Flushing begins Monday October 14th and runs for two-weeks through Friday October 25th.  This program generally begins on the East side of Town and works its way West during the two-week period.  Some may lose pressure or experience discolored water.  These are normal side effects.  Please run the Cold Water ONLY to restore water.

 

PFOA Water Line Extensions work continues as well as Town DPW Projects.  These may require road closures or lane reductions.  Please find below the anticipated road closures and lane restrictions.

 

Autumn Acres will be reduced to One-Lane this week for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.    Men and equipment will be on the edge of the roadway.  Please use caution and expect delays.

Fox Hill Road – Tuesday & Wednesday will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic while Highway Crew repairs a sinkhole.  Men and equipment will be on edges of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Harwood Hill Road -between Orchard Rd and Rte 7 Connector will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic for the next several weeks for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Men and equipment will be on edges of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Houghton Lane will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic for the next several weeks for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Men and equipment will be on edges of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

River Street continues to be CLOSED to through traffic from 7:00a.m – 3:30p.m while several crews work on its rehabilitation.   Local traffic ONLY will be allowed.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Willow Roadwill be CLOSED for the next several weeks to through traffic for PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Local traffic ONLY will be allowed.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

 

TOWNWIDE:

A Highway Crew will be repairing and/or replacing signs.  PLEASE USE CAUTION when approaching these areas and expect delays.

Water Department begins Hydrant Flushing townwide.   Many roads may be temporarily reduced to One-lane.  Men and equipment will be in, or on the edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

 

All Work will be dependent on weather conditions.  Please use caution when entering a construction zone, men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.

 

REMINDER – LEAF SEASON :

Please DO NOT rake or blow leaves into Town streets or Highways as this clogs storm drains and creates flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

 Residents and Contractors – Please make sure ALL LOADS ARE COVERED when taking leaves and or brush to the Transfer Station.
