Week of September 04 – 08, 2017

REMINDER: Town Office will be CLOSED Monday September 4th, 2017 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.  Please have a Safe & Happy Labor Day!!!

 

Division Street remains Closed to through traffic all week.  Local traffic WILL be accommodated.  Water, Sewer and Highway crews continue preparation work for paving.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Imperial Avenue remains Closed 6:30am – 3:00pm to through traffic.  Local traffic will be accommodated.  Highway & Sewer Crews continue working on Imperial Avenue rebuilding manholes and storm drains in preparation for paving this summer.  Please find alternate route.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use caution.

Jefferson Avenue – Tuesday/Wednesday will be Closed between Weeks St and Elm St for road repair due to a waterline dig.  Please find an alternate route.  Local Traffic will be accommodated.

Maple Street – Tuesday will be Closed between Spring St and Gage St for a waterline repair.  Local Traffic will be accommodated.  Please find alternate route.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use caution.

North Branch Street – Thursday will be CLOSED between Brooklyn Bridge and Bell St from 7:00am – 3:00pm for a water line repair.  Local Traffic will be accommodated.  Please find an alternate route.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use caution.

Park Street – will remain CLOSED to through traffic between Gage St & Scott St as Highway & Sewer crews continue storm drain and manhole rehabilitation.  Local Traffic will be accommodated.  Please find an alternate route.

Union Street – Wednesday will be reduced to one-lane traffic between Silver Street and Short St for a water hydrant repair.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use caution.

Valentine Street – Wednesday will be Closed between Union St and Main St for a water hydrant repair.  Local Traffic will be accommodated.  Please find alternate route.  Men & equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use caution.

 

Townwide Work:

Roadside mowing, tree trimming and weeding also will continue in numerous areas in Bennington.  Please use caution when approaching these areas and leave plenty of room for the tractor and men or equipment on side of the road.

Reminder:

Please DO NOT rake or blow grass and/or leaves into Town streets or Highways as these clogs storm drains and creates flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.
