BENNINGTON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Bennington Town Office - Conference Room - September 15, 2011 September 15, 2011 Minutes MEMBERS PRESENT: Meg Campbell, Anne Bugbee, Scott Murphy, HPC Secretary, Jeff Goldstone Excused: Joe Hall • Scott reported that the Car Show is back in Bennington at Willow Park this weekend, Friday through Sunday. The Chamber reported that Garlic Fest was well attended in light of Tropical Storm Irene, they had 75% attendance with vendors being at 100%. • Meg reported that the basement at the Historic Matteson house next to the Henry Bridge was full of water. • Jeff reported that the R.A.H.C. houses on Benmont Avenue have been put out to bid.• Meg shared the information below: CLG Applications are due in December, HPC discussed holding off on applying for this round and stated that the money could better help other communities at this time. Preservation Trust is working with Division surveying properties for flood damage from Tropical Storm Irene. "The Preservation Trust offers matching grants up to $500 for Emergency Conditions and Engineering Assessments for non-profit, municipally-owned and commercial historic buildings throughout the state."
