July 13 – July 17, 2015

Water Department
Monday through Friday-Water Crews will be flushing water valves and performing water leak detection surveys throughout town. Please use caution when approaching these work zones.

Wastewater
Monday through Thursday-Wastewater Crews will be rebuilding manholes on East Road in preparation for road paving. One-Lane traffic will be necessary to perform this work. Road signs will be posted and traffic control will be provided if necessary. Drivers should use caution when approaching these work zones.

Highway
Monday-Thursday- Highway Crews will be rebuilding catch basins on Elm Street from the Old Bennington line to Dewey Street, the road will remain closed. Highway crews will be working with a private contractor cleaning debris out of stormwater catch basins in numerous locations, please use caution when entering a these Work Zones. Highway Crews will be patching pot holes, milling pavement and trimming branches to prepare for new pavement in number locations throughout town.

Monday – Road Closure
Monument Avenue will be closed from Carpenter Hill to Dewey Street to all through traffic. A highway crew will be replacing a culvert.

Tuesday – Friday
A private contractor will begin paving in various locations throughout town, if possible, please avoid the areas mentioned below on corresponding days, lane restrictions and hold ups will occur between 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday– South Stream Road from Beech Street to the Pownal Line.
Thursday – Houghton Lane from Rt7A to East Road.
Thursday and Friday – Houghton Lane from Rt7A to East Road, East Road from the Shaftsbury town line to Kocher Drive.
Friday –East Road from the Shaftsbury town line to Kocher Drive.

All Work will be dependent on weather conditions.
Please use caution when entering a construction zone,
men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.
