Week of October 15 – 19, 2018

 

Due to Weather / Rain Delays previously scheduled roadwork may carry over to this week

  

**Townwide Hydrant Flushing begins Monday October 15th and runs for two-weeks through Friday October 26th.  This program generally begins on the East side of Town and works its way West during the two-week period.  Some may lose pressure or experience discolored water.  These are normal side effects.  Please run the Cold Water ONLY to restore water.

 

Rte 67A / North Bennington Road will be reduced to One-lane traffic from Hanaford Plaza to Water Street as this section continues with PFOA Water Line Extension Work.  Local traffic (including buses) WILL be accommodated.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Austin Hill will be Closed for final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

Bard Road will be Closed for final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

Crescent Blvd at South Street will be reduced to One-Lane Traffic at South St only.  Highway crew will be patching recent roadwork.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Dewey Street continues to be One-Lane Traffic between Elm St and Weeks St.  Highway Department will be patching blacktop edging due to sidewalk work.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Gypsy Lane – will be Closed from Rte 9/West Road to Walloomsac Road for final paving. Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find alternate route.

Harwood Drive will be CLOSED for final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

McCall Street will be CLOSED for final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

Merson Street at South Street will be CLOSED for final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

Murphy Road will be Closed for final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

Scott Street will be CLOSED through Oct 19th for final phase of rehabilitation work including proper grading and final paving of the roadway.  Men and equipment continue to be in the roadway.  Please use find Alternate Route.

Walloomsac Road- will be Closed to through traffic between Dermody Rd and Fairview Street for final paving work. Men and equipment will be in the roadway. Please find alternate route.

**William H. Morse Airport may be accessed by way of Dermody Road

 

TOWNWIDE:

Highway Crews continue Roadside Mowing and road patching around town.  A Private Contractor will also begin paving numerous roads throughout town.  Water Department begins Hydrant Flushing townwide.   Many roads may be temporarily reduced to One-lane.  Men and equipment will be in, or on the edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

 

STATE PROJECT:  Rte 7 North-South / Rte 9 East-West:

Temporary parking restrictions are now in place within the active construction zones for the following day.  Temporary “no parking” signs will be put in place in advance for areas that are to be temporarily restricted.  Please be advised that cars remaining in temporary no parking areas when work commences each morning will be towed at the owner’s expense.  This is necessary in order to allow construction activities to progress.

The sidewalk/drainage work located in front of the Tastee Freeze will continue. A few details remain to be addressed on the curb and sidewalk on Route 9 near Monument Ave.

 

Additional State Paving Project:   North Bennington Rte 67 / Rte 67A

Dates for the paving of driveways and side roads is still yet to be determined.   Once paving along Route 7 is complete, paving will begin on Route 67.

Work on the sidewalk near the railroad crossing may be still underway (due to weather delays). Please follow sidewalk closure and detour signs.

Reminder – Leaf Season:

Please DO NOT rake or blow grass and/or leaves into Town streets or Highways as these clogs storm drains and creates flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.
