IMPORTANT: Early Mail In Ballots for November Elections Arriving Now!

Due to passage of new laws by the Vermont Legislature, early mail-in ballots are mailed to all active voters in the State of Vermont for any General Election.
This mailing is done by the VT Secretary of State and they are hitting mailboxes NOW! Ballots will have a return envelope included in the packet, however, you can also use the drop box located at the Bennington Town Office at 205 South Street, Bennington, VT.

We check the drop box daily (even on weekends) and it is under video surveillance. We are still experiencing slow mail service in Bennington, so our Town Clerk, Cassandra Barbeau, recommends completing your ballot early and returning it promptly. The Town must receive your ballot by 7:00 PM on November 8th for it to count.
If you wish to vote in person, on Election Day, you are not required to use your mailed ballot. Please consider returning it to the Town Clerk's Office prior to Election Day.
You can write on the envelope "No, thanks" or "voting in person" or something along those lines. We will remove the notation from your voting record that you have already been provided a ballot. If you do not return the unused ballot, you will need to sign an affidavit on Election Day that you have not yet cast a ballot.

The polls are open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on November 8th. Bennington voters will be voting at the Bennington Fire Department and North Bennington voters will be voting at the North Bennington Trustee's Office (train station).

Please check our Elections Page for sample ballots and to find your voting district with our mapping tool! As always, please reach out to Town Clerk Cassandra Barbeau or assistant Kayla Thompson at our Town Clerk's office at (802)442-1043 with any questions.
