August 7 is Purple Heart Day

Remember to honor our Purple Heart Veterans

As established by the Bennington Select Board in 2021, August 7th of any given year shall be known as Purple Heart Day in Bennington. This is a way to honor those who served and sacrificed in wartime.

Thanks in part to the efforts of Representative Mary Morrissey and VFW president Norm LeBlanc, Governor Phil Scot signed a State of Vermont Executive Proclamation honoring our Veterans who are Purple Heart Medal Recipients on August 1, 2022, recognizing Sunday, August 7th as the official day of recognition nationally and here in the State of Vermont.

Bennington is Proud to be a Purple Heart Community!
