Downtown Bennington Area Wide Plan – Public Comment (August 1, 2015)

Downtown Bennington Area Wide Plan – Greenberg Properties Conceptual Redevelopment Scenarios
Public Comment Opportunities – Saturday, August 1, 2015

On Saturday, August 1st, the consulting team of Greenman-Pedersen Inc. and Centerline Architects will have booths set up at the Bennington Farmers Market (10:00am-1:00pm) and the Bennington Home Brew Festival (2:00pm-5:00pm) to solicit public input on a variety of conceptual redevelopment scenarios for the Greenberg properties located along West Main Street, South Street, Washington Avenue and Franklin Lane.

This work is part of the Downtown Bennington Area Wide Plan the Town of Bennington is undertaking. This component of the project is designed to envision various possible redevelopment scenarios for the critical southwest quadrant of downtown Bennington. There is no developer in place at this time, but rather this work is intended to identify what may be possible at the site with an eye toward sparking interest from prospective developers in the future. Much of the work completed in this project is the type of pre-development work any interested party would need to complete in order to acquire and revitalize the target properties.

A key element of any successful redevelopment is public buy-in and support and this outreach is designed to bring the public in at the very outset of this effort to attract a developer to this important downtown site. We hope you will consider stopping by and offering your thoughts.
