DPW Road Work May 22-26, 2017

Town of Bennington Project List

Week of May 22 – 26, 2017

Please be advised Dewey Street will be closed to through traffic between Monument Avenue and Blackberry Lane (only).  This construction project is expected to run through July 14th. Local traffic only will be accommodated Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm

Coleville Road: A crew will be replacing a culvert on Coleville Road in preparation for upcoming paving.  This will require lane restrictions as men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please use caution when approaching

Main St / Washington Ave: A highway crew will be repairing the intersection of Main Street & Washington Avenue on Wednesday May 24th.  Work will begin at 6:30am and will require Traffic Control. Please expect delays and/or find an alternate route.  Men and equipment will be in the center of both roads.

Townwide: Across at various locations the Highway Department will be pouring and curing concrete sidewalks as well as painting road markings.  Please use caution when approaching these areas.

As a reminder, the Town’s Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing continues Monday May 22nd through Friday May 26th.   This is a State-Mandated program executed every Spring and Fall.  Some residents may experience low water pressure and/or discolored water temporarily.  These are normal side effects of the program and cause no harmful effects.   If you are experiencing these issues, please refrain from doing light colored laundry and run your cold-water tap (only) until water is clear.

Please DO NOT rake or blow leaves into Town streets or Highways as this clogs storm drains and creates flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.
