Week of August 02 – 06, 2021

Chapel Road: Crossover to N.Branch St : will be CLOSED to through traffic for next several weeks as PFOA Contractors continue the next phase of PFOA Water Main extensions. Local traffic will be accommodated.  Residents may only enter/exit this section of Chapel Rd from the Crossover intersection.  Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Please find Alternate Route.

Convent Ave : MONDAY Anthony Dr to Main St will be CLOSED while a Private Contractor conducts a new water tap.  Please find an alternate route.

County St: at School St Tuesday will be reduced to ONE lane with traffic control in place while a Sewer crew rebuilds a manhole.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays.

Dewey St: Harwood to Weeks will be reduced to ONE lane all week with Traffic Control in place while a Highway crew works on the sidewalk rehabilitation.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

Harwood Dr: Wed/Thurs/Fri  is scheduled to be Paved (weather permitting).  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

Hillside St: will be reduced to ONE lane all week while a Highway crew works on catch basins and drainage in preparation for new pavement.  Tuesday a private Contractor will be repairing a sewer service line.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route

Hunt St: intersection of Benmont Ave:  Wed/Thurs/Fri  is scheduled to be Paved (weather permitting).  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

Maple St : will be CLOSED to through traffic.  ALL WEEK as a contractor works on the Lead Line Replacement project. Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Local Traffic ONLY will be accommodated.  Please use Caution when approaching these areas and find an alternate route.

North St: MONDAY will be reduced to ONE lane with traffic control in place while a Sewer crew rebuilds a manhole.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays.

North Branch St @ Chapel Rd intersection will be CLOSED as PFOA Contractors continue the next phase of PFOA Water Line extension work.

Observatory St: Wed/Thurs/Fri  is scheduled to be Paved (weather permitting).  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

Park St : between County St and Kocher Dr will be reduced to One-Lane as a Town Crews continue work valve and manhole work in preparation for paving.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays.

Pleasant St : Monday between North St and School St will be CLOSED as a Water crew repairs a water valve in preparation for paving.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays.

Upper Pleasant St will be CLOSED Wednesday between Main St and Valentine while a Sewer Crew works on a sewer main repair.

Rte 7: in the area of Houghton Lane Bridge crossing (both directions) will be reduced to One-Lane as a private contractor continues work on PFOA Water Main Extension.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

School St : between Main St and Bridge will remain rough while waiting for new pavement.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays.

Washington Ave : between Elm St & Observatory St remains rough as total sidewalk, drainage and roadway rehabilitation work continues.

TOWNWIDE: – SUMMER MAINTENANCE

Downtown Sidewalk Sweeping TUESDAY

Street sweeping continues.  Some traffic may be slowed down due to cleaning equipment in roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Roadside Mowing continues this week.  Some traffic may be slowed down due to mowing equipment on edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Green Mountain Power continues their Tree Trimming Program.  For the next 4 months, Davey Tree Service will be assisting GMP with tree trimming around town.

NORTH BENNINGTON: – SUMMER MAINTENANCE

North Bennington Highway crew will be conducting local park maintenance and mowing.

All Work will be dependent on weather conditions.  Please use caution when entering a construction zone, men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.
