Week of August 15 – August 19, 2016

 Please Be Advised: Town Offices will be CLOSED on Monday August 15th, 2016 in Observance of the Bennington Battle Day Holiday.

 Water & Wastewater Department

All activities for the Water & Wastewater crews this week are expected to be out of the roadway.


Highway Department

Tuesday – Friday

– Main Street between Bradford and Branch Street will be reduced Single lane traffic to work on curbing; Expect minor delays. Please use caution, as men and equipment will be in the roadway.

– Branch Street will be closed all week between Main Street and Gage St to continue work on curbing, sidewalk and roadway repairs. Local Traffic will be accommodated when necessary.

– Construction on the Walking/Bike Path continues between Bennington College and Hannaford Plaza. Please use caution when approaching Silk Road at the Route 67A intersection.

– Roadside mowing continues throughout town. Please use caution when approaching these areas.

– Highway personnel continue to work with a private contractor cleaning numerous catch basins throughout town. Please use caution when approaching as men and equipment may be in the roadway.


Private Contractor Work – Paving:

A private contractor is scheduled to begin paving Monument Avenue, Corey Drive and Houran Rd. These areas will be reduced to one-lane traffic; expect minor delays.

A private contractor is also scheduled to mill blacktop on Rte 67A near Silk road and in the Pleasant Street area. Expect Traffic Delays.


All Work will be dependent on weather conditions.

Please use caution when entering a construction zone,

men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.



Residents and Contractors – Please make sure all loads are covered when taking leaves and or brush to the transfer station.
