Week of August 16 – 20, 2021

 

 Please Be Advised: Town Offices & Public Works will be CLOSED on Monday

August 16th, 2021 in Observance of the Bennington Battle Day Holiday. 

 

** Paving continues: the Topcoat will be applied on the following streets

Please expect One-Lane restrictions and delays

 Chapel Rd * Dewey St * Hillside St * Kocher Dr * Observatory * Park St * School St *

 

Chapel Road: One Lane Traffic as the road gets paved

Darling St: Monday – One Lane Traffic as a Water Dept crew installs a new flushing hydrant.

Depot St: Thursday –between North St and County St will be CLOSED to through traffic as a Water Dept crew installs a new flushing hydrant

Dewey St: Harwood to Weeks will be reduced to ONE lane all week with Traffic Control in place while a Highway crew works on the sidewalk rehabilitation.  There will also be FIRST (Base) Coat of Paving added while Highway continues the curbing and sidewalk work.  Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

Gage St: between Park St & Maple StOne Lane Traffic as a contractor repairs a broken water service line.

Hunt St: at Benmont Ave : One Lane Traffic as a Contractor works on a water main upgrade.

Lafayette St: Tuesday – One Lane Traffic as a Water Dept crew installs a new flushing hydrant

Maple St : will be CLOSED to through traffic.  ALL WEEK as a contractor works on the Lead Line Replacement project. Men and equipment will be in the roadway.  Local Traffic ONLY will be accommodated.  Please use Caution when approaching these areas and find an alternate route.

Observatory St: Wednesday & Thursday : One Lane Traffic as a Contractor paves the roadway

 TOWNWIDE: – SUMMER MAINTENANCE

Downtown Sidewalk Sweeping TUESDAY

Street sweeping continues.  Some traffic may be slowed down due to cleaning equipment in roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Roadside Mowing continues this week.  Some traffic may be slowed down due to mowing equipment on edge of the roadway.  Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Green Mountain Power continues their Tree Trimming Program.  For the next 4 months, Davey Tree Service will be assisting GMP with tree trimming around town.

NORTH BENNINGTON: – SUMMER MAINTENANCE

Monday: North Bennington Highway will be observing the State Holiday of Bennington Battle Day.

 Tuesday through Friday they will be installing an EV Charging Station in the Train Station Parking Lot as well as continued local park maintenance and mowing.

All Work will be dependent on weather conditions.  Please use caution when entering a construction zone, men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.
