Week of November 08 – 12, 2021

 REMINDER: Bennington Real Estate Taxes are due WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 10th.

Bradford St: ONE lane as a Contractor replaces Lead service lines.  Local traffic will be accommodated.   Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route

Congress St: ONE lane Traffic as a Contractor replaces Lead service lines.  Local traffic will be accommodated.   Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route

East Street: will be CLOSED to through traffic as a crew repairs and paves a recent water line dig.  Local traffic will be accommodated.   Please use caution when approaching and expect delays

Grove St: ONE lane Traffic as a Contractor replaces Lead service lines.  Local traffic will be accommodated.   Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route

Lyons St: ONE lane Traffic as a Contractor replaces Lead service lines.  Local traffic will be accommodated.   Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route

Washington Ave: between MAIN St to Observatory St: Highway crew will be wrapping up this total rehabilitation project.  Final items may require temporary closures during the week or lane restrictions.  Men and equipment will be in or on the edges of the roadway.  Please use caution when approaching this area or find alternate route.

TOWNWIDE: – FALL MAINTENANCE

Sewer Main Televising:  A Sewer Crew will be conducting annual maintenance and televising of sewer mains near river crossings  Men and equipment will be in or on edge of the roadway. This may require temporary lane closures throughout the week.   Please use Caution and Expect Delays.

Painting street markings & “Stop” lines in various areas of town, please use caution when approaching and expect minor delays.

Downtown Sidewalk Sweeping THURSDAY

Green Mountain Power continues their Tree Trimming Program.  For the next month, Davey Tree Service and an additional sub-contracting crew will be assisting GMP with tree trimming around town.

** Remember: Overnight Parking BAN Begins Monday NOVEMBER 15TH

The Winter Overnight Parking Ban for all streets within the Town and Village of North Bennington will begin the following week.  From November 15 to March 31 between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. NO overnight parking is allowed on the streets.  Police will enforce this ban by ticketing individuals who leave unattended vehicles on the street during that time.

NORTH BENNINGTON: – FALL MAINTENANCE

The North Bennington Highway crew will continue Fall maintenance, primarily in Village Parks.  Men and equipment will be along the roadside.  Please use caution when approaching these areas and expect minor delays.

 

REMINDER – FALL :

Please DO NOT rake or blow leaves into Town streets or Highways as these clog storm drains and create flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure ALL LOADS ARE COVERED when taking leaves and or brush to the Transfer Station.

ALL Work will be dependent on weather conditions.  Please use caution when entering a construction zone, men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.
