Week of October 24 – 28, 2022


Benmont Ave : btwn County St & Leonard St – will be reduced to ONE-lane for next several weeks while Private Contractor performs test digs for the upcoming Sewer Main rehabilitation project.   Please expect delays and use caution when approaching.

Franklin Ln: continues to be CLOSED to through traffic all week while the Public Works Department rehabilitates this street. Local (Street) residents will be accommodated. Please find alternate route.


Please DO NOT rake or blow leaves into Town streets or Highways as these clog storm drains and create flooding and driving hazards for the entire community.

Residents and Contractors – Please make sure ALL LOADS ARE COVERED when taking leaves and or brush to the Transfer Station.


Townwide Street Sweeping continues

Town Highway crews will also continue Patching roads and sidewalks in various areas of town, please use caution when approaching and expect minor delays.

Sewer Department continues System-wide Jetting/cleaning of sewer mains. Please use caution when approaching these areas as large equipment and personnel will be in or on edge of roadways.


The North Bennington Highway will be patching roadway on Bank St and Hawks Ave.  Additionally, they will be repairing the culvert on River Road and one on Hillside St in the Village of N. Bennington.  Lane restrictions and/or road closures may be necessary.  Please use caution when approaching these areas as men and equipment will be in or on the edge of the roadway and expect delays or find alternate routes.


** REMINDER: Overnight Parking BAN Begins Tuesday NOVEMBER 15TH

The Winter Overnight Parking Ban for all streets within the Town and Village of North Bennington is from November 15 to March 31 between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. NO overnight parking is allowed on the streets.  Police will enforce this ban by ticketing individuals who leave unattended vehicles on the street during that time.


ALL Work will be dependent on weather conditions.  Please use caution when entering a construction zone, men and equipment will be in the traveled portion of the road.
