Every town employee is required to meet with Michele in HR to discuss the pre-tax program and voluntary insurances for next year. Michele makes it easy, but you must do this to receive your correct benefits in 2023.

  1. Check the schedule to make sure you are available for your meeting with Michele to discuss your employee benefits for 2023.

Current Medical and Day Care Caps

Unreimbursed Medical Expenses are currently capped at $2,850 per year, per employee.
Dependent Day Care is currently capped at $5,000 per year.
Subject to change this Fall by IRS.

Details on Enrollment

This enrollment is for the Town of Bennington’s Section 125 “Pre-Tax” Program For 2023 & AFLAC Voluntary Insurances.

The Town of Bennington is having AFLAC/WageWorks administer its pre-tax cafeteria plan again for the new plan year, 2023, starting January 1, 2023.

All full-time employees must fill out a Salary Re-Direction Agreement to indicate whether you want to participate in the Town’s pre-tax cafeteria plan for 2023 as well as the Town’s flexible spending plan for Unreimbursed Medical Expenses and Dependent Day Care. (The Town’s current flexible spending plan year ends on or after December 31, 2022, and includes a grace period for URM that begins January 1st and ends March 15th, 2023.

If you want to make any changes in your pre-tax selections, including AFLAC insurance plans, you must do this during open enrollment. All AFLAC policy premium deductions will remain the same as this year. If you are a Town health insurance subscriber, your records will also be updated for the new premium levels for your major medical health insurance plan.

AFLAC plans which are available include an Accident, Critical Illness, Cancer Plan, Guaranteed Issue Hospital Choice Plan, and Whole/Term Life as well as Juvenile Life for children or grandchildren.

Reminder that if you have had a close contact w/COVID within 10 days prior to your Open Enrollment meeting, you are required to wear a mask.

NOTE: There will be no payment of overtime for these meetings. These are for your personnel benefits.
