Building & Zoning Permits

Essentially, any construction, renovation, or change in use of a structure or property requires a building permit, a zoning permit, or both. All necessary forms are located on this website or on request from the Permitting Department.

Development Review Board

This board is responsible for reviewing and issuing land use permits for all significant development in the Town of Bennington.

Historic Preservation Commission

The Bennington Vermont Historic Preservation Commission’s main role is planning and advocating for the protection and appreciation of Bennington’s historic and architecturally significant resources and reviewing applications for signage and facade changes within the Downtown Historic District.

Vision & Planning; Planning Commission

The Planning Commission performs the planning for the town to articulate and implement a vision for the future of Bennington.
