Voter Registration

Registering to Votegirlsvotingfirsttime
You are eligible to vote in the town in which you reside if you:

  • Are a citizen of the United States
  • Are a resident of Vermont
  • Have taken the Voter’s Oath
  • Are at least 18 years of age

If you are registering for the first time in Vermont, you will need to take the Voter’s Oath. You may do so at the Town Clerk’s Office, or take the oath from a notary, justice of the peace, judge, court clerk, any commissioned officer in the Unites States Armed Forces, or other official with the power to administer oaths. The Voter’s Oath is now self-administering and you may sign certifying you read the oath.

To register to vote, click the link below to access the VT Secretary of State website to register to vote online.

If you would rather not register online, below you will find a voter registration form you can download, print, fill out manually, and return it to the Bennington Town Clerk’s Office.

For more information, you may call the Town Clerk’s Office at 802-442-1043 or view the Secretary of State’s website.
