Questions and Answers

Question: We are hoping to attend the Pre-Bid meeting scheduled for this Friday but we may not be able to make it due to the snow storm that’s rolling in later this week. I wanted to check in with you and see if this is a mandatory pre-bid meeting or if it’s optional?

Answer: The pre-bid conference is optional and it is understandable given the weather forecast if you are unable to make the conference. View the Pre-Bid Conference Memorandum

Question: Could you share the location for the exercise equipment? Are you looking for an accessible pathway to the exercise equipment as well or is there something already in place?

Answer: There are currently existing paved walking paths in Willow Park that may be incorporated in to the Fitness Trail Design. A specific location for the Fitness Trail has not been identified at this time. Design proposals should ensure accessible pathways to the exercise stations.

Question: Do you have a survey with dimensions to share of the playground site and fitness trail? Perhaps you have the old Leathers & Associated drawing from the original community build that you can share for the playground layout?

Answer: Unfortunately the Town of Bennington does not have a survey with dimensions of the existing playground site and proposed fitness trail. The Town of Bennington also does not have a copy available of the original drawings for the existing playground.

Question: Some more clarification on the surfacing, you call out “approved, durable, all weather fall protection surface”. Is engineered wood fiber an acceptable surface or are you looking for a unitary type surfacing such as pour-in-place rubber or turf?
Answer: The Town of Bennington prefers a unitary type surfacing such as pour-in-place rubber and/or tile type surfacing.
