Over the last several years issues of PFAS contamination from the former ChemFab plant and possibly other sources has been an ongoing issue and concern.
Prior contamination issues in North Bennington and Bennington north of Route 9 have been identified and addressed with remediation plans for those affected.
Recent testing of wells south of Route 9 has been done and the results were shared at a public presentation on September 28, 2023. The slide deck from that presentation is available here.
This Powerpoint slide deck was presented by Richard Spiese of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation at the public meeting. The VT DEC wanted to share results of recent fieldwork conducted by Weston & Sampson in the area south of Route 9, provide the public with VT DEC's next steps, and take questions from the public.
