Police Department Fundraiser for new K-9

K-9 Gracie and Rob Murawski

The Bennington Police is asking for donations to support expanding their K-9 program.

Bennington Police Chief Doucette says the goal is to raise $15,000 by April 1. The funds will be used to purchase the puppy and pay for the care, accommodation, and training needed to become a K-9 officer. Doucette says these dogs run anywhere from $900 to $3,000. They are looking anywhere from local breeders to a well-known breeder down in Alabama who has had much success with police dogs.

Donations are being accepted in person and by mail via check or cash at the Bennington Police Department, 188 South St., Bennington, VT 05201. Donations are tax deductible.
